Integration
Hammertech + Teletrack — one login, one source of truth, zero duplicate admin.
Full single sign-on and bidirectional workflow integration with Hammertech. Operator induction, ticket validity, and competency records flow from Hammertech into Teletrack PROSTART® — pre-starts gate on what Hammertech says about the operator. Completed pre-starts, fail events, and incidents flow back to Hammertech for site safety reporting. Built for Tier 1 and Tier 2 construction.
Hammertech is the safety and contractor management platform on most AU Tier 1 and Tier 2 construction sites. It holds the records of which operators are inducted on which sites, which tickets and licences are current, and which sub-contractors are approved to work. Teletrack is the platform running the pre-starts, the operator ID, and the immobilisation on the plant itself.
Without an integration, those records sit in two places. Your safety team maintains operator competency in Hammertech. Your operations team maintains the same operator records in the telematics platform. Two databases of the same fact, kept aligned manually — until they aren't, and an operator runs a machine they shouldn't.
The Teletrack ↔ Hammertech integration kills that duplication.
Data flow
From Hammertech into Teletrack
Operator identity
The same record across both platforms — Hammertech is the master.
Site induction status
Has this operator completed the induction for the site they're on right now.
Ticket and licence currency
Is the operator's HRWL, EWP, forklift, or other ticket current for the machine class.
Sub-contractor approval
Is the operator's employer an approved sub-contractor on this site.
Data flow
From Teletrack back into Hammertech
Pre-start completions
Every pass and fail logged against the operator's Hammertech record.
Fail events with photo evidence
Captured at pre-start time, attached to the Hammertech site safety log.
Immobilisation overrides
Every emergency override fired, with reason and timestamp.
Incidents
Any tagged incident captured in Teletrack flows into Hammertech's incident reporting.
How it works
A typical day on a Tier 1 site — 5 steps
How it works
-
1
Operator logs in via SSO
Operator opens the Teletrack interface on their phone, tablet, or in-cab unit. SAML SSO between Hammertech and Teletrack — operator authenticates against Hammertech credentials. No second login. No separate username to remember.
-
2
Competency check against Hammertech
Before the operator can attempt a pre-start, Teletrack queries Hammertech in real time: inducted on this site? Ticket current for this machine class? Employer an approved sub-contractor? Any check fails and the workflow stops — the pre-start doesn't run, the machine stays immobilised, and the reason is shown to the operator and logged for the safety team.
-
3
Pre-start gates on Hammertech state
Competency checks pass. The pre-start questionnaire runs — your custom checklist for the machine type. Operator answers each item, captures photos where required, confirms. Every required check has to pass.
-
4
Completed pre-start flows back to Hammertech
Completed pre-start — pass or fail, operator ID, machine ID, timestamp, GPS, photo evidence — written back to Hammertech against the operator's record. Fail events flagged for site safety; pass events sit in the audit trail. If the pre-start fails, the machine stays immobilised, a work order is auto-created in Teletrack Maintenance, and the fail is escalated through Hammertech.

Site safety queries Hammertech as source of truth
Your safety team — and the head contractor's — queries Hammertech for compliance evidence. Hammertech now holds the full operator-to-pre-start record across both platforms. No double-keying. No reconciling spreadsheets at month-end. One source of truth.
Why this integration is unique
No other AU telematics provider has this depth of Hammertech integration. Most platforms list 'Hammertech' on an integrations page and mean a one-way CSV upload overnight — that's a report, not an integration. Teletrack does real-time competency lookup at the pre-start gate, bidirectional workflow on the same schedule, actual SAML SSO, and pre-start enforcement based on Hammertech state. The integration sits in the safety-critical path, not bolted on the side. Decisive for Tier 1 work — head contractors increasingly score sub-contractors on the depth of their safety integrations during tender response.
Audience
Who uses this integration
Tier 1 head contractors
Running Hammertech as the site-wide safety platform across multiple sub-contractors and mixed fleets. Enforce a single competency standard across every operator on every machine.
Tier 2 head contractors
Same shape, smaller scale. Hammertech is the site safety system; Teletrack runs the plant.
Sub-contractors on Hammertech sites
When your customer (the head contractor) mandates Hammertech, the integration means you only maintain operator records in one place — Hammertech — and pre-starts inherit that record automatically.
Construction businesses running Hammertech internally
Mid-tier and larger civils, demolition, formwork, and concrete businesses where Hammertech is the chosen internal SMS — even if they aren't on a Tier 1 site every day.
Activation
What you need to turn it on
Prerequisites
- Active Hammertech licence — you hold this directly with Hammertech; Teletrack doesn't resell or include it.
- Teletrack on the Track + PROSTART® tier — the integration runs through PROSTART® (cross-vendor immobilisation), included on Track + PROSTART® ($31.90 / asset / month).
- PROSTART® deployed on at least one site — the integration uses the pre-start workflow as its trigger.
- Hammertech admin access for one user on your team — needed to provision SAML SSO and approve Teletrack as an integration partner inside Hammertech.
What it costs
Nothing extra. The Hammertech integration is included with PROSTART® on the Track + PROSTART® tier. No setup fee, no per-user surcharge, no per-integration call charge.
Typical activation: 2–4 weeks from signed quote to first live site.

Compatibility
Hardware and solutions this works with
The Hammertech integration runs through PROSTART®. That means it works with every hardware device PROSTART® supports.
Hardwired devices — full immobilisation + pre-start
- Digital Matter G70-BLE
- TrakaX® Series 2 (Australian-designed, PROSTART-native)
- Teltonika FMM250, FMM650, FMC650
- Ruptela Smart5
Pre-start without immobilisation
- Teltonika FMM003 (OBD plug-in)
- Ruptela Plug5 (OBD plug-in)
- Ruptela Asset5 (battery-powered)
- Digital Matter Barra GPS (battery-powered)
The pre-start runs, the Hammertech competency lookup runs, the record flows back. Only the physical immobilisation enforcement is hardware-dependent.
Solutions that work alongside
- PROSTART® pre-starts — the trigger point for the integration.
- Maintenance module — failed pre-starts auto-create work orders.
- Portal Sharing Mode 2 — head contractors see integrated audit data across all sub-contractors on their site.
Hammertech integration FAQs
Is this a real SSO integration, or just shared credentials?
Real SSO. SAML 2.0 between Hammertech and Teletrack — the operator authenticates against Hammertech once, and Teletrack honours the session. We don't share or store Hammertech passwords; the standard SAML assertion flow handles it. Your Hammertech admin provisions Teletrack as a service provider inside the Hammertech IdP configuration.
What happens if Hammertech is unreachable when an operator tries to start?
Configurable. Default behaviour is 'fail closed' on a Tier 1 site — if Teletrack can't reach Hammertech to verify competency, the pre-start can't run and the machine stays immobilised. Operator sees a clear error and can escalate to site supervisor. Some customers prefer a short cached-state window (e.g. last-known-good for up to 4 hours) where the operator can proceed if their cached competency was current. Configurable per site at setup.
Do operators have to be set up in both systems?
No — that's the point of the integration. Operators exist in Hammertech as the master record. The first time an operator authenticates into Teletrack via SSO, their Teletrack identity is created automatically from the Hammertech data. New operators added to Hammertech appear in Teletrack on next sync without manual import.
What data exactly flows back to Hammertech?
Pre-start completion records (pass / fail / override, operator ID, machine ID, GPS, timestamp), photo evidence captured during the pre-start, immobilisation override events with reason, and tagged incidents. Engine hours and machine telemetry don't flow back unless you specifically want them to — those typically live in Teletrack and aren't part of Hammertech's data model.
Can the head contractor see our sub-contractor data through Hammertech?
The head contractor sees what your Hammertech account exposes — Hammertech's own permissions model governs that. Teletrack writes data into Hammertech; what Hammertech does with it from there is Hammertech's configuration. In practice, head contractors set the visibility level they need at project start and Hammertech enforces it.
Does this work if we use Hammertech but PROSTART® isn't deployed yet?
No. The integration runs through the PROSTART® pre-start workflow — that's the trigger that fires the Hammertech competency lookup and writes the pre-start record back. You need PROSTART® deployed on at least one site to activate the integration. The Track + PROSTART® tier ($31.90 / asset / month) includes it plus the 6-stage rollout.
What about sub-contractors on our site who don't run Teletrack?
The Teletrack ↔ Hammertech integration only covers operators and machines on your Teletrack subscription. Other sub-contractors keep their own records in Hammertech. You can use Portal Sharing Mode 2 to give head contractors a unified view of teletrack-managed assets across multiple sub-contractor accounts — that's a separate, complementary capability.
How often does the sync run?
Competency lookups are real-time at pre-start. Pre-start records write back to Hammertech within seconds of completion. Bulk reconciliation jobs run every 15 minutes to catch any retries or queued events. There's no overnight batch — everything is near-real-time.
What happens at contract-end?
Month-to-month contract on the Teletrack side, 30 days notice. If you cancel Teletrack, the data already written into Hammertech stays in Hammertech — it's Hammertech's record now. The teletrack-side data is fully exportable through the platform UI or API before cancellation.
Does this integration work outside of Tier 1 / Tier 2 construction?
Yes — anywhere Hammertech is deployed. We see it most on Tier 1 / Tier 2 construction because that's Hammertech's strongest segment, but customers in resources, infrastructure, and large facilities operations also run it. The integration logic is the same; the value just lands hardest where the regulatory and tender pressure is highest.
Can we test the integration before committing?
Yes. We run a sandbox against a Hammertech test instance during the 6-stage rollout. You see the data flow end-to-end before going live on a real site. Hammertech-side sandboxes are arranged through Hammertech directly — we'll help coordinate.
Does this integration cover NHVR EWD or heavy-vehicle compliance?
No. Teletrack doesn't pursue NHVR Electronic Work Diary approval — that's a separate compliance stream. The Hammertech integration covers site safety, operator competency, and pre-start workflow. For HV fatigue compliance you'd use an NHVR-approved EWD product separately.
