Hardwired to the asset's power — always on, nothing to charge, nothing to swap. CANBUS / J1939 engine data, engine hours read direct from the machine, and PROSTART® pre-starts with immobilisation on every unit below. Professional install by an auto-electrician, typically 30–75 minutes per asset.
Wired-in is the right call when the asset has its own power and you want everything the platform can do — live tracking, engine hours, CANBUS fault codes, and PROSTART® pre-starts that immobilise the machine until the checklist passes. Does PROSTART® immobilisation work on all of these?
Yes — PROSTART® cross-vendor immobilisation works on every hardwired tracker we sell (Ruptela Smart5, Teltonika FMM250 / FMM650 / FMC650, Digital Matter G70-BLE and Dart3, TrakaX® Series 2). The relay wires into the start circuit and gates the machine on pre-start pass / fail.
How long does install take?
Typically 30–75 minutes per asset with an auto-electrician — switched power, ground, CANBUS tap where the machine exposes it, and the immobilisation relay if you're running PROSTART®. Teletrack doesn't charge for installation support: we supply diagrams, coordinate the install, and can refer an auto-electrician in your area.
Can I read engine hours and fault codes?
Yes, on machines that expose CANBUS / J1939. Engine hours read direct from the machine — not estimated from runtime — plus fault codes and fuel data where the bus provides them. We confirm per make / model in scoping.
