Tier 1 & Tier 2 construction
Full Hammertech SSO + workflow integration. Cross-vendor PROSTART® immobilisation. Tamper-evident audit trail. Head-contractor site visibility.
The pain
The problems we solve on Tier 1 and Tier 2 sites
Pre-starts as paperwork, not enforcement
Your sub-contractors run pre-starts on paper or in a tick-box app. The machine starts whether the operator passed or not. You can't prove operators were competent at the moment work began.
Competency data siloed in Hammertech
Hammertech holds operator inductions, ticket validity, and competency records. Your fleet telematics doesn't talk to it. Site safety and operations teams keep separate records of the same thing.
Sub-contractor visibility black box
Every sub-contractor on your site runs their own platform — or no platform. You can't see who's operating what, when, or where, until something goes wrong.
Tender response without evidence
The procurement team asks for safety record evidence. You give them a PDF and a logo wall. The strong tenderers give them tamper-evident audit data — and win.
Mixed sub-contractor fleets
Five sub-contractors on a site running five different hardware brands and no shared platform. Head contractor flies blind.
How Teletrack fixes it
Six capabilities for Tier 1 / Tier 2 work.
Hammertech SSO + workflow integration
Full single-sign-on plus bidirectional workflow. Operator competency, ticket currency, and site induction status flow from Hammertech into PROSTART® — pre-starts gate on what Hammertech says. Completed pre-starts and fail events flow back to Hammertech for site safety reporting.
See Hammertech integration →Cross-vendor PROSTART® pre-starts
AU-developed pre-start system that allows you to immobilise across multiple hardware brands. Digital Matter G70-BLE, Teltonika FMM650, Ruptela Smart5, TrakaX® Series 2 — same workflow, machine doesn't start until pre-start passes.
See PROSTART® →Head contractor site view
Site managers see every asset on their site — regardless of which sub-contractor owns it — including pre-start status, operator induction validity, machine activity, and incidents. Sub-contractors keep their own platform access.
See portal sharing →Tamper-evident audit trail
Every pre-start completion, fail, override, work order, and operator action is logged in an immutable activity log. Exportable as evidence for tenders, audits, incidents, and regulator queries.
Multi-vendor hardware bench
Sub-contractors arrive on your site with mixed hardware. Teletrack runs them all — Digital Matter, TrakaX®, Teltonika, Ruptela, plus integration with TopFlyTech and CalAmp. One head-contractor view across the lot.
See hardware →Dashcam compliance
Two Teltonika dashcam SKUs — the Teltonika Dashcam (forward-facing) and the Teltonika DualCam (forward + driver-facing) — for AU site spec requirements (BMA, Rio Tinto, FMG). Pair with the Teltonika FMC650 telematics device.

How the integration works on a typical Tier 1 site
-
1
Operator logs in once
SSO between Hammertech and Teletrack. Operator authenticates against Hammertech credentials.
-
2
Competency check
Before the operator can attempt a pre-start, Teletrack queries Hammertech: is this operator inducted on this site? Is their ticket current for this machine type? If no, the workflow stops before the pre-start runs.
-
3
Pre-start gates on Hammertech state
If competency checks pass, the pre-start questionnaire runs. Operator answers your custom checklist. Passes go through; fails trigger an immobilisation hold and an auto-created work order.
-
4
Results flow back
Completed pre-starts (pass and fail), fail events, and immobilisation overrides flow back to Hammertech for site safety reporting and incident tracking.
-
5
Site safety team sees one source of truth
Your safety team queries Hammertech for compliance evidence — Hammertech has the full operator-to-pre-start record without duplicate data entry on either platform.
Recommended hardware
For Tier 1 / Tier 2 sites
For heavy plant on site
Ruptela Smart5 or Teltonika FMM250 — hardwired, full CAN reads, PROSTART-ready with cross-vendor immobilisation. Excavators, telehandlers, dozers, dumpers.
See hardware →For light commercial site fleet
Teltonika FMM250 or Ruptela Smart5 — hardwired fleet vehicle tracker with operator ID. Utes, vans, traffic management vehicles.
See hardware →For dashcam compliance
Teltonika FMC650 + dashcam — the higher-bandwidth Cat 1 telematics device paired with the Teltonika Dashcam or DualCam. BMA spec, Rio Tinto, FMG, and Tier 1 internal-policy compliant.
See dashcam options →Tender-ready evidence
Tier 1 and Tier 2 head contractors increasingly score sub-contractors on safety technology in tender response. Teletrack's audit trail gives you the data they're asking for: every pre-start, every operator, every override — tamper-evident and exportable. Hammertech-integrated competency records. Asset history per machine across the contract. Incident reports and fail-event logs. Several Tier 1 contractors (Hutchinson Builders, Hindmarsh, Acciona) have customers running Teletrack on site.
Pricing

Common questions
How does the Hammertech integration actually work day-to-day?
Operators authenticate once via SSO. When an operator attempts a pre-start, Teletrack queries Hammertech for their induction and ticket validity for the specific machine type. If competency checks fail, the pre-start can't start. If they pass, the operator runs the pre-start questionnaire. Pre-start results — pass, fail, override, photos — flow back to Hammertech for site reporting. Your safety team queries Hammertech as their source of truth and sees the full operator-to-pre-start record without manual data entry on either side.
What about sub-contractor sites that aren't running Hammertech?
PROSTART® still works without Hammertech — Teletrack handles operator ID, ticket tracking, and induction records natively if you don't want to integrate with another platform. Hammertech is an option, not a requirement.
Can the head contractor see the sub-contractor's data, or just summaries?
You choose, per sub-contractor. Default Mode 2 sharing is read-only on machine status (pre-start passed / failed, location, current operator). You can configure deeper sharing — full activity history, incident logs, audit trails — per the head contractor's specific tender or contract requirements. Each sub-contractor maintains their own full account access.
What's the audit trail format for tender response?
Exportable as PDF or CSV from the platform. Includes asset register, operator competency snapshot, pre-start completion log with pass/fail counts, override events, maintenance work orders, and incident reports for any specified date range. We've helped customers respond to Tier 1 procurement panels with this exact format.
Does PROSTART® work on rented plant?
Yes. Many of our customers are sub-contractors using hire plant on Tier 1 sites — the hardware on those rented assets came from the hire business's Teletrack subscription, and the sub-contractor on site runs PROSTART® through their own account. PROSTART® portability across rental arrangements is part of why hire businesses pick Teletrack in the first place.
How is data hosted and retained for audit purposes?
AWS Sydney. Privacy Act 1988 + NDB scheme aligned. We don't auto delete your data. Most Tier 1 work runs on 7-year retention to align with WHS evidence-preservation requirements; you can run longer.
How long to deploy to a 200-vehicle fleet?
Typical 200-asset Tier 1 / Tier 2 deployment is 4–8 weeks end-to-end. An Implementation Consultant runs the project. Hardware installs via our partner network with predictable per-site rates. Hammertech integration setup is part of the rollout if you want it.
Are you NHVR EWD-approved?
No — Teletrack is not pursuing NHVR Electronic Work Diary approval. For heavy-vehicle fatigue compliance you'll need an NHVR-approved EWD provider. We position around heavy-vehicle visibility (driver scorecard, fuel monitoring, dashcam, route management) rather than EWD compliance specifically.
