The Asset5 is Ruptela's battery-powered tracker for non-powered assets — trailers, generators, light towers, fuel cubes, refrigerated bodies, cold-chain equipment. Two user-replaceable LiSOCl2 cells deliver up to 3 years of battery life at two reports per day. IP68, magnetic-mount option for no-drill install, BLE 6.0 for paired sensors, accelerometer-triggered unauthorised-movement alerts, and a casing-open tamper switch. Designed for the assets that sit in a yard, get towed to a site, and don't have their own ignition power.

Built for non-powered assets
Trailers, generators, light towers
Mobile lighting plants, diesel gensets, fuel cubes, compressors, secondary lifting gear — anything that sits on a yard and doesn't have ignition power. Magnetic mount means no drilling, no wiring.
Cold-chain refrigerated bodies
Pairs with Ruptela's BLE temperature sensors for refrigerated trailers, cool rooms, chilled cargo. Configurable thresholds, breach alerts, multi-zone support for multi-compartment trailers.
Rental leakage and stolen-asset recovery
Catches the two most expensive things in hire fleet — equipment still out past its return date, and equipment moved without authorisation. Geofence the depot, set a hire-window, get an alert on breach.
PROSTART®
Pre-start check supported. Immobilisation not.
Pre-start check — supported. Operator completes the check (defects, hours, faults, photos, signature) on the Teletrack operator app. The check is stamped against the asset and stored in the audit trail. Failed checks auto-create a maintenance work order.
Immobilisation — not supported. Asset5 is a battery-powered device with no relay output, so it cannot gate the machine. If you need PROSTART® immobilisation on a hardwired asset, look at the Ruptela Smart5, Digital Matter G70-BLE, Teltonika FMM250 / FMM650, or TrakaX® Series 2.
Most Asset5 use cases — trailers, generators, cold-chain bodies — don't have an ignition circuit to immobilise in the first place. Pre-start record-keeping is what compliance actually wants on those assets.

DIY by default — under a minute per asset
Magnetic mount
Ships pre-provisioned with SIM and credentials. Snap the magnetic holder onto the asset's steel frame. Under a minute per asset.
Zip-tie mount
For non-ferrous frames or anywhere the magnet won't hold — secure the device with industrial zip-ties through the integrated mounting points. No wiring, no adhesive cure time.

Pair an Asset5 with a Smart5 for high-theft gear
The Asset5 can listen for a paired Ruptela Smart5's Bluetooth signal. When the Smart5 signal drops out — typically because a thief has found and disabled the visible hardwired tracker — the Asset5 enters recovery mode automatically: higher reporting frequency, aggressive cellular behaviour, and a recovery alert to Teletrack. Useful on high-value plant or hire gear where two trackers (one visible hardwired, one hidden battery) is the right defence-in-depth setup.
