Migration — move your fleet without losing your history.

Coming from GPS Boss, Fleet Office, Geotab, Trackunit, EROAD, or an OEM platform like VisionLink or KOMTRAX? We'll bring your assets, operators, hire customers, sites, and as much historical data as your old platform will export. Standard migration is included in onboarding — no separate fee.

Quoted separately 1–8 weeks

What we can migrate

Always migrated

  • Assets — serial numbers, registration, make / model, machine type, custom fields
  • Operators — names, licences, tickets, competencies, group assignments
  • Sites / depots / yards — locations, geofences, hierarchy
  • Hire customers — customer records, contacts, hire history (where relevant)
  • Cost centres / account codes — for cross-charging and finance integration

Migrated where the source platform exports it

  • Trip history — historical journeys, distance, runtime
  • Pre-start records — completed pre-start questionnaires (if your previous platform supported pre-starts)
  • Maintenance work orders — historical work orders, completion records, parts used
  • Driver / operator behaviour data — harsh events, speeding incidents, idling history
  • Hammertech sync state — if you're already on Hammertech, your operator / induction records flow over with the integration

Not migrated

  • Configuration logic from your previous platform — alert rules, bespoke reports, dashboards. We rebuild these in Teletrack to match (or improve on) what you had — dashboards are customisable per-user out of the box, and bespoke reports our team builds using AI on request. Your Implementation Consultant walks through your current alerts at kick-off.
  • Hardware — see the hardware question below; most existing devices need to be swapped.
  • Side-by-side parallel run — not a productised option. See FAQ.

How migration runs

  1. 1

    Migration call

Your Implementation Consultant walks through your current platform — what you've got, what data you can export, what alerts and reports matter to you, and what install logistics look like for the hardware switch.

  2. 2

Data export from your current platform

You request a full export from your current provider — assets, operators, customers, history. Most platforms can produce CSV / Excel exports; some require API access. We'll tell you exactly what to ask for and review the export with you when it lands.

  3. 3

    Data load into Teletrack

We transform and load the data into Teletrack — assets, operators, sites, customers, then historical data as a second pass. You review the asset register and operator list once it's loaded and confirm before we move on.

  4. 4

    Hardware swap

Your new Teletrack hardware ships. Hardwired devices are installed via our partner auto-electrician network or your own preferred installer. Plug-in (OBD) and battery devices are operator-installable.

  5. 5

    Switch-over and go-live

Once devices are online, your team starts using Teletrack. Your previous platform stays live on its own contract until you cancel it — we don't dictate the cancellation date. You'll typically run Teletrack alongside your old platform for a few days while you confirm everything's flowing, then cancel your old provider.

Platforms we've migrated from

We've moved customers off all of the following. Each has its own quirks — your Implementation Consultant will know what to ask your current provider for.

GPS Boss / Telematics Guru

Digital Matter is one of our hardware partners, so customers moving from GPS Boss / Telematics Guru sometimes keep their existing Digital Matter devices and just swap the platform. We'll confirm device compatibility on the migration call.

Fleet Office

Fleet Office runs on its own stack. Hardware needs to be swapped. Standard migration applies to the data; their custom dev features need to be discussed case-by-case.

Geotab

CSV / API export of assets, trips, and operators. Geotab GO devices need to be swapped to one of our supported hardware lines.

Trackunit

Mid-market customers move off Trackunit when the platform-only enterprise positioning is heavier than their fleet needs. CSV / API export covers assets and trips; Trackunit-family hardware (Raw, Spot, Pass, Kin, Beam) needs to be swapped to one of our supported lines.

EROAD

EROAD's hardware is closed and needs to be swapped. Data export is available via their portal — assets, trips, basic operator data.

OEM platforms (VisionLink, KOMTRAX, JDLink)

OEM telemetry stays where it is — we don't try to replace OEM platforms for OEM data, we sit alongside them. For fleet-wide telematics across mixed OEM equipment, we migrate the platform-level data (assets, operators, sites, customers) and integrate to OEM feeds where they expose an API.

What happens to my existing hardware?

Honest answer: most existing devices need to be swapped. Telematics hardware is locked to the platform that sold it — Geotab GO devices only talk to Geotab, EROAD devices only talk to EROAD, and Trackunit's hardware family is platform-bound the same way. Exceptions: Digital Matter devices (from GPS Boss, Telematics Guru, or any other Digital Matter reseller) are usually compatible, and TopFlyTech / CalAmp devices we integrate to without reselling. For everything else, we'll quote the hardware swap as part of your subscription quote.

Commercial model

What's included in your subscription

  • Migration call with your Implementation Consultant

Common questions

Can you migrate from [specific competitor]?

Almost certainly. We've migrated from GPS Boss, Fleet Office, Geotab, Trackunit, EROAD, Caterpillar VisionLink, Komatsu KOMTRAX, and a handful of smaller AU and international platforms. If your platform exports data as CSV / Excel or via an API, we can migrate it. Bring your platform name to the migration call — we'll tell you upfront what's possible.

What data can you bring over?

Always: assets, operators, sites, customers, cost centres. Where your old platform exports it: trip history, pre-start records, maintenance work orders, driver behaviour data. What we don't bring: alert rules, bespoke reports, and dashboard configurations — we rebuild those in Teletrack to match what you had. Dashboards are customisable per-user out of the box, and bespoke reports our team builds using AI on request (usually improving on what you had).

What happens to my hardware when I migrate?

Most existing devices need to be swapped — telematics hardware is locked to the platform that sold it. The exceptions are Digital Matter devices (often compatible with Teletrack), and TopFlyTech / CalAmp (we integrate to these without reselling). For everything else, we quote the hardware swap upfront as part of your subscription quote. Migration itself — the data work — is included in onboarding regardless.

How long does migration take?

Standard migration for a 10–50 asset fleet typically runs alongside the 1–2 week onboarding window — the data work happens in parallel with platform setup. For larger fleets or complex multi-source migrations, allow 4–8 weeks. Your Implementation Consultant will give you a fixed timeline once they've seen your current platform export.

Do you offer side-by-side parallel run?

Not as a productised option. Most customers run their old platform alongside Teletrack for a few days during switch-over — that happens naturally because you're paying your old provider until you cancel them — but we don't synchronise data between the two platforms. If you need a formal parallel-run with synchronised data (typically for tender-driven evidenced switch-over), we'd quote that as professional services and be honest about the limitations upfront.

What if my current provider won't release my data?

This sometimes happens — particularly with older contracts or closed OEM platforms. Most AU providers will release your data on request (under the Privacy Act and standard service agreements), but it can take weeks. Your Implementation Consultant has done this enough times to know the language to use with each provider. Worst case, we can start onboarding fresh with current-state asset and operator data, and bring historical data across later when your old provider releases it.

Will my operators have to re-learn everything?

The operator app is different from any of the platforms we migrate from — but it's simpler than most. A 30-minute operator training session usually covers it. If your operators were on PROSTART-equivalent on the old platform (Hammertech pre-starts, or a competitor's pre-start product), the workflow concepts transfer; only the UI changes.

Can you handle a migration with multiple business units on different platforms?

Yes, but it's a multi-source migration and we'd quote any scope beyond standard as professional services. Common pattern: one business unit on Geotab, another on Trackunit, head office wanting one consolidated platform. We do this — your Implementation Consultant will scope it during the demo or discovery call.
