What it is
The screen operators tap the pre-start through.
The MDT865 is the operator UI in a cabin-mounted rugged tablet. It sits permanently in the machine, connected via its docking cradle to the Teltonika FMC650. The operator taps through the pre-start questionnaire, the FMC650 enforces the immobilisation gate, and the platform records the result — same audit trail as the smartphone-based PROSTART® workflow, just with a fixed cabin screen instead of BYOD.
The docking cradle carries two RS232 channels, one RS485 channel, a CAN bus line, and USB — all via 18-pin pogo pins to the tablet. The tablet swaps out in seconds if it needs replacement; the harness stays in the vehicle.
Pricing
Upfront hardware and subscription.
- MDT865 tablet: $800 + GST per unit, upfront. Includes the mounting kit with RS232 connection for the FMC650.
- Teltonika FMC650 telematics device: $280 + GST — required for the PROSTART® pre-start workflow.
- No extra subscription on the MDT865 itself. The asset runs on the standard base Telematics tier at $21.90 / asset / month + GST for the FMC650. PROSTART® gating adds the PROSTART® with immobilisation module at $15 / device / month + GST if the asset isn't already on Track + PROSTART®.
